Remembering

Hello everyone! We have been carrying on with daily living and I’ve been too preoccupied to come up with a real inspirational post. Or take pictures of nifty things I accomplished. Like a new outfit. Its in the laundry hamper already. 😦

Jeff was feeling unwell Tuesday and Wednesday: a headache and extreme sleepiness. This was very much unlike him! I came home from work yesterday to find him fully dressed & shaven so I knew he was on the mend. He wrote a new post on his blog last night.

The weather has been constantly rainy the past four days. Again, unusual for our semi-arid county. We are promised to get remnants of Hurrican Ike on Sunday. Our ground is soaked already. Egad! Another 5 inches of rain will cause major flooding. I promise to keep out of deep puddles and drainage ditches.

We are corresponding with a potential new living and working situation. Pray for our discernment.

Remembering today. Seven years ago, I was a nanny working near Washington, D.C. The emotions are still there…if I let them resurface. It was an intensely frightening experience, both on this date and in the months that followed. I lived through anthrax scares, security escalations, a sniper on the loose, blackhawk helicopters flying overhead. Christ have mercy.

Quotes

"I can't say I don't believe in your God, but I don't believe He meant the world to be as it is." ~Nicholas Higgins. North and South.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." No idea where that last quote came from, but I like it!
