A Modest Look Ahead at 2008

Now that you know what I’m reading in 2008, I will take some time to turn my heart forward to what God may have me to do in the coming year. There are some major unknowns looming out there, which I hope I handle well. Jeff will finish his computer course in July, which will open the way for him to be the breadwinner of the family. Our thoughts have also been turning towards moving out of Oklahoma to be close to relatives, probably my own in the Midwest. Jeff is a brave man to settle in a place he has only seen briefly. Come to think of it, I was a brave woman when I moved out here!

The modesty and headcovering experiments are on-going. It has been over 4 months since I began wearing a headcovering in daily life! So much of my ‘flesh’ has died during that time, I hardly know what is left to refine…just kidding. There is plenty to work on, in cooperation with the Spirit. This year, I hope to ‘come home’ which I hope will make it easier to cover and dress the way I prefer instead of putting up a quasi-business look for work. [Pantyhose will be recycled! yay!]

Speaking of Coming Home, my major focus with Veiled Glory blogging in the next few months will be on pulling together all my fragmented homekeeping skills and seeing how to improve them. There is so much I want to learn and do that it makes even my busy brain short-circut! One thing I know I’ll need, beyond my daytimer is a Home Management Binder. I think that calls for some pretty paper and stickers, don’t you think?

We are also holding out the possibility of conceiving this year. So far, with 18 months of marriage and little prevention, God hasn’t provided a child for us yet. This is fine; we’ve had a full life together. 🙂

Here is to a joy-filled, love-filled year for you all!

"I can't say I don't believe in your God, but I don't believe He meant the world to be as it is." ~Nicholas Higgins. North and South.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." No idea where that last quote came from, but I like it!
