Modesty and the 21st Century

Anne Marie wrote this article for her newsletter. Here is a snippet:

As we walk along the way of life, we want to make sure all we do will glorify God. With that basic thought as a guiding principle we should be able to discern what is modest apparel, actions, thoughts, reading or viewing material. Will God be made bigger; will others see God clearly through my family and me when they see us as a son or daughter of the King?

I agree with her application of modesty as a virtue which applies to the whole of life. We put on the right clothing, but our actions or words might betray a wanton attitude.

Also, check out this sermon on Chastity from 1749. Its long but worth the reading time!

I enjoyed looking at your blog, and am thankful for your encouraging comment left on Something Greater.

If it is okay with you, I would like to link Veiled Glory to SG?

    In Christ,
    Natasha

Quotes

"I can't say I don't believe in your God, but I don't believe He meant the world to be as it is." ~Nicholas Higgins. North and South.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." No idea where that last quote came from, but I like it!
