Guest Blogging at Weekend Kindness: Right and Lonely

I’ve written a post for Weekend Kindness today. You may read it here. What sorts of things would you like to see me write about marriage? Help me brainstorm!

New to Me: Links on Friday

Several links have been sitting in my favorites folder for a while, just quivering for me to share!

Slice of Laodicea shares thoughts on childhood modesty enforcement. They also touch on a subject I will write on this weekend, “Heart Modesty.”

Ladybug Garden shares her thoughts on I Timothy 2.

A genealogist ponders the Quaker Cap.

Chris posted his thesis on the Catholic implications of the Veil. This is a long, academic read but I found it fascinating.

An incredibly cute school girl wrap skirt pattern. Yes, it is a Harry Potter inspired pattern…you are forewarned. Still, I’d add about 8 inches to the length and widen the pleats a bit for an excellent and modest skirt. No one would ever guess it was an HP thing.

The rainy remnants of the tropical storm Erin have been drifting in this morning. The temperatures have dropped! The humidity is up! You can’t win it all at the same time. It looks like the VP who made the snotty comment about the A/C issue has taken a personal interest in all things Library. He was in this morning investigating a phone line to the reference desk that was not fixed. Minor detail, a staticky phone line, but maybe he caught flak for dismissing us so easily. I can only dream.

Jeff says “Thank you!” for all your birthday well-wishes. He is excited about the chocolate cake. :) I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Quotes

"I can't say I don't believe in your God, but I don't believe He meant the world to be as it is." ~Nicholas Higgins. North and South.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." No idea where that last quote came from, but I like it!
