New to Me: Links on Wednesday

Here are a few links to read and ponder:

This article uses an awesome quote from an “Asian believer”. Note: There is a piece of artwork on this article which is weirdly out of place…you are forewarned.

The Maidens of Modesty for your younger ladies.

Review of Newsweek articles on the Girls Gone Mild book…also great comment discussion at the end.

One woman’s realization of Modesty issues.

An excellent article from an Orthodox perspective.

Its Wednesday and do you know where your shoes are?

….at least one pair are on my feet! :D Sorry, folks, I forgot to count my shoes. I own more pairs than I can remember in my head. Egad…I’ll complete the shoe Meme tomorrow.

We had date night last night instead of Thursday. Jeff will be coaching his last ever softball game with Teen Challenge that evening. I’ll tag along to cheer. :) We had a great evening watching Lord of the Rings (first movie, half way through.) Jeff is a much more into LOTR than I am, but I enjoy it enough to watch it with him.

Actually, we have our own trilogy in the works! No elves or dwarves, all humanoid characters are in the story but lots of good plot drama, religious tension, racial issues, morality, and Good Converting (not vanquishing!) Evil. Yeah, its really, really fun creating a fictional world at times! [And I get to do it with my best friend...]

Quotes

"I can't say I don't believe in your God, but I don't believe He meant the world to be as it is." ~Nicholas Higgins. North and South.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." No idea where that last quote came from, but I like it!
