Modesty and the Family

So, now that you have decided that you should be dressing modestly and even wearing a headcovering, how does this affect the rest of the family? If you have children, do you dress them similarly? What if you have….teenagers?

Since I do not (yet) have children, I do not know how to practically address these questions. My husband and I certainly plan on starting our children out from the beginning in simple, modest clothing. teaching them standards and why mommy dresses the way she does. I know the teen years are incredibly difficult (and the young adult years…until about 24-25.) If modesty is presented in the wrong way, or too late, they’ll spit it out like strained peas. My hope is that, even if my children wildly rebel for a few years, they’ll return to the patterns they knew growing up.

Quotes

"I can't say I don't believe in your God, but I don't believe He meant the world to be as it is." ~Nicholas Higgins. North and South.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." No idea where that last quote came from, but I like it!
